Scene from a Book

  • For this project you will

    • Create your interpretation of a scene from a book you have read

      • You can composite your photos in PhotoShop

    • Take a photos of all the elements in this project

      • Character​

      • Setting​

 
​​​Requirements​​
  • You must take all the photos for this project yourself

  • Has to be a scene from a Fiction/Non Fiction book​​

    • Submit the paragraph that you intend to base your scene on

    • There must be 2 characters in the scene​

      • Clothing should match the scene​

        • If it's a fantasy book, they should look like cosplay players

    • The background (setting/stage) must match from the book

      • For example if it's Hogwart's you should find a castle or go to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios​​

  • The lighting should match through all your photos​

    • If the setting is at night then all the photos should look like evening or have the same lighting through out

      • Pay attention to light source location and direction​

      • Color of the lighting

  • Open the photos in Photoshop

    • Using the selection tools

      • Create a selection of themselves

        • Remembering to feather the edges

          • This creates a smoother selection and removes the hard edge

    • Using the Move tool

      • Students will then move their selection from its original photo to the new image

    • Students will then adjust the moved selection to make it blend in seamlessly into the new photo

      • Use the layer mask to remove unneeded parts

        • This way if you take out too much you can easily bring it back​

      • Brightness and Contrast to adjust the way the image that is placed looks in it's new surroundings.

    • Rename your image and save the file as a Photoshop file (.psd)

    • Use "Save for web and devices"

      • To create a JPEG

  • Submit to Jupiter Grades

    • Final photo ​

    • Paragraph​​
